Is it safe to bot in Aion?
There’s been several mass-bans of botters using most publicly available Aion Bots.
The process appeared simple, scanning the processes after GM’s sent a packet to the players client and if it returned positive, you were flagged and banned.
It seems they banned in masses, instead of gradually. One’s best bet is that this guarantees that the detection is ‘under wraps’ until the hammer hits the nail, so to speak.
Some days later, the question now; is it safe to use an Aion Bot?
After the first wave and first so-called ‘Anti-Detection’ patches, that was a fair chance after alot of people lost their accounts.
Now more recently a second wave has annihilated yet another rough estimate of 27,000 more accounts. This is going to be hard to forgive.
The only comments after only a few days of these now gaping wounds in the botting community, it seems that there’s been no more bannings after several bots released yet more Anti-Detection patches, such as Aion SZ and Aion Ktz. Hopefully as time passes by there will be no more nasty surprises and the healing process will allow for the botting community to recover.
But one must think; WHY are people botting? The main reason is that Aion is a GRINDFEST. You must spend hours leveling and trying to get enough Kinah, especially at higher levels. This is the main money cow behind MMORPG’s, as we all know, you must pay for the time that you play. Bots are there to allow us to ease this grind and enjoy the game more. NCsoft must realise that to get rid of bots all together, they must make fundamental changes to the game that gives no reason to use auto-tools. Then again, imagine all the money that they make from the new accounts of those who were banned. Damn capitalism.
